The Hughes Waterfalls
greets Garden visitors.

Water Garden – This one-acre display of ornamental aquatic plants and 80-foot-long water wall greets visitors near the grand entrance to The Garden. Carol Mayer of Mayer-Reed, an award-winning Portland landscape design firm, designed the Amazing Water Garden.

The Northwest Garden – The garden showcases ornamental plants that thrive in the climate and landscapes of the Pacific Northwest. Its ever-changing palette of trees, shrubs, perennials and annuals offer the home gardener endless sources of ideas and inspiration.

Rose Petal Fountain – A beautiful water feature that has a spectacular collection of annuals and offers a panoramic view of the Willamette Valley.

Conifer Garden – Displays one of the largest collections of dwarf and miniature conifers in the country. Many of them are rare and unusual with unique shapes, sizes, textures and colors. The garden also includes a variety of companion plants such as Japanese maples, Daphnes, heathers and heaths. The garden was developed in partnership with the American Conifer Society, Western Chapter.

Wetlands
– An innovative, pioneering program in partnership with the City of Silverton in which the area's treated water is used to create a thriving wetlands habitat for a variety of wildlife and plants. The water travels at the rate of 300 gallons per minute in peak season through a series of terraced ponds with cascading water, pools and wetlands plants to a holding tank where it then flows into an irrigation system -- a unique and attractive method of using treated water to irrigate The Garden.

Rose Garden
– A combination of roses and companion plants featuring more than 40 varieties of roses.

Bosque
– A central plaza with 40 Pacific Sunset Maple trees in containers arranged to create the illusion that they are growing in water.

Children's Garden
– Specifically geared towards young visitors with lighthearted, lively paces for fun, featuring hands-on children's programs and activities. It features interesting and unusual plants such as the monkey puzzle tree and zebra grass.

Oregon Way – A walkway area featuring seasonal color displays of plants that were developed in Oregon.

Silverton Market Garden – The garden celebrates the agricultural commodities of the Willamette Valley, referred to since pioneer days as the “Eden” at the end of The Oregon Trail. The garden includes wild flowers, fruit trees, berries and vegetables.

Home Demonstration Gardens
– Visitors learn from experts and view the latest gardening developments and new ideas for home gardens. Each garden demonstrates a different concept in home gardening.

Chez Garden – Features a wide variety of plant material including shade plants. The area highlights the beginning of The Garden's daffodil display. More than 500 varieties are planted in The Oregon Garden.

Rediscovery Forest – The Rediscovery Forest at the Oregon Garden is an educational forest inviting discovery and enjoyment. It is a collaboration of the Oregon Forest Resources Institute and The Oregon Garden.

Gordon House, designed by Frank Lloyd Wright – The design is the legendary architect's “Usonian”-style, first introduced to the public in a 1938 issue of Life magazine as a “Little Private Club.” The home was moved 24 miles from the banks of the Willamette River in March 2001 to a setting in an oak grove near The Garden entrance. It is the only Wright-designed home in Oregon and the only one in the Pacific Northwest that is open to the public
