The Helfrich Family has built a boating and fishing tradition with over 80 years of experience on the McKenzie river and rivers of the northwest and that tradition continues today with Helfrich River Adventures.
  
Helfrich River Adventures provides Fishing, Rafting and Boat Trips on Owyhee River, Grande Ronde, John Day, Deshutes River and others.
 
Whether it's a half-day family float, a corporate outing or a full blown multi-day catered fishing and hunting experience we know what it takes to create a memorable trip.

Fishing Eastern Oregon
Helfrich River Adventures provides Fishing Trips on the Eastern Oregon Rivers. They are run when their height is favorable. This is generally in the Spring and Fall.
  
Equipment
The classic high-rise rocker bottom McKenzie drift boats we use have been improved upon over the past 80 years for use on this famous river. Not only can they run whitewater, but in the hands of our able guides these stable boats can quietly and precisely maneuver into the smallest nooks and crannies to find the allusive big ones.
    
Each drift boat carries 3 people, 2 fly fisherman and 1 guide.
  
Top quality equipment is supplied by us, but in the event that you have a lucky rod or certain setup that you prefer we encourage all fisherman to bring along their favorite equipment, whether it's fly or spinning gear.
  
We will schedule all our trips for the times that work for our guests. If you want to fish late or early that's fine with us, but we will always give our suggestions for best results.
  
Don't forget to bring the essentials such as rain gear, an Oregon fishing license, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen and beverages.

Our River Guides are all friendly, full-time professionals with years of river experience. They graciously share their local area knowledge with our clients, providing local background and historical information of the river. Not only are our guides knowledgeable and friendly but also some of the greatest oarsman and fisherman the area has to offer.

Rafting in Eastern Oregon is an Adventure!
There are many who feel the Northwest's Peak rafting experience can be found on Eastern Oregon's Owyhee River, with the scenery found there it's hard to argue!
 
The Grand Ronde is another great Northwest Rafting experience, beautiful high canyon walls, crystal clear water and abundant wildlife make this trip one that is never forgotten.
 
If you can't get out on the river during the peak months or are looking for a hot day getaway, another wonderful river experience can be found on Central Oregon's Deschutes, which has pretty consistent water levels all year long.
 
For May and June rafting in eastern Oregon we often suggest a trip to the John Day River. Another gem of Central Oregon.
 
Our Eastern Oregon River Rafting Trips are 3 day - 2 night in length and 4 day 3 nights.

We run multi chambered inflatable boats with between 4 and 8 passengers and a guide.

Our Eastern Oregon Rivers Scenic Driftboat trips run different rivers in eastern Oregon, the river choosen changes with the viewable wildlife, season and current water conditions.
 
The Rivers run in Eastern Oregon are some of the most spectacular in the Northwest, the Owyhee being famous worldwide.

John Day River
The John Day is the second-longest un-dammed river in the continental U.S. with peak water flow between May & June. Mostly Class II rapids makes a trip down the John Day perfect for families or anyone seeking a relaxed, yet still thrilling rafting trip.
  
Deschutes
The Deschutes has fairly constant water levels all year, so whether you get out for a spring, midsummer or fall float you can count on a great trip.
 
The Grande Ronde
The Grande Ronde descends through one of the deepest & most beautiful canyons in the US, creating moderate Class II rapids perfect for the novice - intermediate.
 
Owyhee River
One of the most spectacular rafting experiences in the Northwest is on Oregon's Owyhee (pronounced Oh-Y-He) River. The best time of the year to float this incredible river is between mid-March & early June.
