Eastern Oregon is a geological wonderland filled with untouched landscapes and an abundance of wildlife. The easiest way in to this region is by car, keeping large numbers of tourists out and preserving the area for those who are willing to take the time to drive in. Making this a very intimate and peaceful place, great for soul searching or artistic creativity. Popular activities include hiking, rafting, camping, fishing, and hunting for fossils, arrowheads, artifacts, and stones. In most towns you will find museums, quaint restaurants, local art, and jewelry shops.
